Located in Charente Maritime at twenty minutes from La Rochelle, Rochefort a little town with a rich historical past, houses le Musée des Commerces d’Aurefois. The museum invites you to discover the charm of the trades at the beginning of the 20th century.
This wonderful trip in the past, among the products and advertisements, will awaken the memory of some and will thrill the imagination of the others.
One of the richest French collection of promotional objects is presented in this former 1000 square-meter warehouse, built around 1910 and which kept the typical charm of the industrial architecture of this time.

Go for a walk to the “Belle Epoque” passing in front of about twenty recreated shops.

> In the basement of the building, an exhibition is devoted to the Cognac with the distillery and its traditional alambic charentais.

But also the cooperage and many objects and posters recounting the history of the Cognac and the Pineau.The museum invites you (for group visiting) to a tasting among the alambic and the Cognac barrels in order to discover one of the best aspect of our region.
